Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation and continued advice from the government that the lockdown situation is likely to continue until further notice, we will be maintaining our Urgent and Emergency service only and still maintain a closed door policy to safeguard the safety of our staff and clients. Clients will need to call to arrange any appointments, history will be taken over the telephone and animals handed over to our staff at the door.
However as the lockdown period extends, there will be some routine procedures that will need to be addressed for animal welfare purposes. Therefore, from the 14th of April we will be recommencing puppy and kitten vaccination courses where the veterinary surgeons feel this is appropriate, and we will dispense flea and worm medication, but on a no-contact collection basis requiring ordering and payment in advance and collection from outside of the surgery by arrangement. This same arrangement continues to apply to our repeat prescription and food order service.
Booster vaccinations will still not routinely be performed but can be discussed on an individual case basis if a welfare issue is of concern. Also, some neuter procedures will be considered, again on a individual basis if circumstances in the household (e.g. risk of an unwanted pregnancy) are of concern.
The phone will not be manned for our standard hours due to reduced staffing levels, but the on-call Vet can be accessed 24/7 for emergency advice or treatment, by ringing the usual number.
We are by no means back to a normal service, but hope we can count on your continued understanding as we try to balance staff and client health and animal welfare. We thank you for your support during these difficult times and hope that with these measures in place we can all stay healthy and can continue to provide any essential treatments your pets require.
